It is a great pleasure for us to extend an invitation and heartly welcome to the members of Indian Sociological Society and other participants to the XXXVI All India Sociological Conference being organized for the first times in the state of orissa during 27-29 December,2010.

The conference attempts to address the issues of development, governance and social tensions of contemporary society through various Symposium and deliberations in Research Committees(RCs).

Those who intend to present their papers in the conference are requested to submit the abstract of their papers through any of the 22 research Committees (RCs) or Adhoc group of the ISS.

The paper presenters are advised to contact the Conveners of the RCs concerned for submission of the abstracts. Two copies of the abstract of the paper is not more than 250 words should be submitted to the RC Conveners preferably by email in the Abstract Form latest by September 15,2010.

• Category B countries:US$150

• Category C countries:US$100
